What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a nonchemical, noninvasive procedure that uses a spray of microcrystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells and reveal younger, healthierlooking skin. Microdermabrasion also encourages the production of a new underlying layer of skin cells with higher levels of collagen and elastin, which further improves your skin’s appearance. Microdermabrasion is much gentler than dermabrasion. Dermabrasion is a more intensive procedure used to treat deeper facial lines, extreme sun damage, and scars.
Patients with fine facial lines or wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, clogged pores, skin texture problems, or minor scars are good candidates for microdermabrasion. Patients with rosacea or acne may also benefit from microdermabrasion treatments. The gentle spray of microcrystals can eliminate or improve skin imperfections and conditions by removing the upper layer of dead and damaged skin cells to reveal new, fresh skin.
Who Is Not a Good Candidate?
Microdermabrasion is not recommended for people who have deep scars, active keloids, undiagnosed lesions, a recent herpes outbreak, warts on the face, active acne (stages 3 and 4), an autoimmune system disorder, or unstable diabetes. Pregnant women should not undergo microdermabrasion. Candidates who have had a recent chemical peel or other skin procedure such as collagen injections should wait a two to three weeks before undergoing microdermabrasion. Prospective patients should also refrain from waxing or tanning the skin to be treated for a few weeks before microdermabrasion treatment. Individuals with deep scars, facial creases, or other moderatetosevere skin defects should consider a stronger treatment such as a chemical peel, dermabrasion, or laser skin resurfacing.
Microdermabrasion for Acne
Microdermabrasion can be used to treat acne and the scars that acne causes. Microdermabrasion treatments can eliminate or greatly reduce the appearance of lighter scarring. However, for deep acne scars (known as "pock marks" or "icepick acne scars") microdermabrasion may not be able to provide desired results. Deeper scars can usually be effectively treated with dermabrasion or an acne chemical peel. Patients with active acne may also benefit from microdermabrasion treatments, which exfoliate the skin and clear clogged pores of oil and dirt. Because the polishing action of the crystal and the removal of skin cells can aggravate acne, however, a consultation with a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon is advised to help determine whether a patient's acne or acne scars can be effectively treated with microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion for Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic inflammation of facial skin characterised by redness, prominent blood vessels, swelling, and/or skin eruptions that look similar to acne. Microdermabrasion can be used to decrease the redness associated with rosacea. However, if you have been diagnosed with rosacea and are considering microdermabrasion, you should consult a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon prior to treatment because microdermabrasion can negatively affect active rosacea.

IPL Hair Removal
Permanent hair reduction that’s fast, safe and reliable. Sick and tired of shaving and waxing? IPL hair removal is a fast, gentle and effective way to remove unwanted hair with permanent results.
What is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light is a technology where light is converted into heat energy. Treatments are like a very powerful camera flash lamp being held against your skin.
The selected light waves target chromophores (colour pigments) such as melanin in brown spots and freckles; and such as haemoglobin in broken or diffused blood vessels. The light waves can also target specific protein molecules in acne bacteria and in collagen. IPL treats all conditions without disruption to the skin’s surface.
What is the difference between IPL and Laser?
Lasers have been used in surgery for years. The IPL is an adaptation of the laser, more suited to the beauty industry. The biggest difference between laser and IPL, as far as treatment is concerned, is the coverage. The laser beam is very narrow, only covering a small spot at a time, while IPL coverage is several times the area, and therefore treatments are much quicker. The surface area of the Chromolite IPL applicator head is 7.5 square cm – one of the largest on the market.
Lasers produce light from one specific wavelength, or colour, for a very specific target. The light emitted from the IPL is composed of a spectrum of colours from different wavelengths, enabling selective photoabsorption (light absorption) to different targets. In other words, using the IPL is like using a group of lasers in a single treatment.
Permanent Hair Reduction: How does it work?
Intense Pulsed Light targets the colour pigment (melanin) in the hairs. Therefore white hairs can not be treated. Dark hairs on fair skin have the best and quickest results. Fair hairs will require extra treatments with lesser results. Caution is required when treating hairs on darker skins; this is explained below and would be discussed more fully during your consultation.
The hair growth cycle:
Hairs grow in constant cycles: Firstly hairs are actively growing, then they become dormant (resting), and finally they loosen and shed, only to be replaced by more new, actively growing hairs.
Only hair follicles in the active growth stage are disabled by IPL treatments. Hairs in the dormant stage of the growth cycle normally remain anchored in the follicles for weeks or months, depending on their location, but their follicles and associated hair germination cells are not disabled by IPL treatments. These follicles will be treated in subsequent sessions. This is why you need repeated sessions. Hair growth becomes sparser with each session. All treated hairs should shed within about two weeks.
What happens at my appointment?
Consultation and Test Patch:
Your first appointment will be a comprehensive consultation to answer all your questions and to check that there are no contraindications to IPL treatments, such as medications which cause photosensitivity, and to ascertain the degree of recent sun or UV exposure on the area to be treated.
The colour of your skin and the condition to be treated must be assessed, then a calculation is made to determine the appropriate setting. A patch test will be applied and we must wait to see the outcome. Some conditions only require a few minutes wait, while others will require a separate appointment of up to 48 hours after the test patch. It is very important to be honest about medications and your recent sun or UV exposure. Clients with photosensitivity problems may develop some adverse reactions such as blistering or mild burning sensations. Your first test patch flash will be set on a low setting in order to avoid this. The setting may be raised if appropriate.
The treatment area is reassessed, wiped with a mild antiseptic lotion to remove all traces of oils, etc., and ultrasound gel is then applied. Both the operator and the client will wear glasses to protect their eyes from the bright flashes of light, then treatment may commence. The flash light lamp at the head of the hand piece is held against the client’s skin and the intense light is pulsed at the trigger of a button. The lamp is moved to cover the entire area, with a minimum of 2 seconds between each flash. Once the treatment is completed the gel will be wiped off and a cooling gel will be applied, plus sun block where appropriate.
Hair removal treatments:
If your appointment is for hair removal; in areas of course hair growth the treatment area is obvious, but sometimes it is not so obvious, so it is therefore appropriate to allow the hairs to grow just a little, so that the operator may clearly see the area needing treatment. This area will then need to be shaved before your IPL treatment begins, because it is imperative that the light is targeted down the hair shaft to the bulb. We don’t want to treat (and heat) hairs on the skin’s surface. Where the treatment area is obvious, you may shave the hair yourself before you arrive for your appointment.
Is it painful?
Some treatments have little or no sensation at all, but for other treatments, clients may feel a slight sting, similar to the flick of a rubber band against your skin. It is certainly not unbearable, and we can always reduce the intensity if you feel the need. Immediately after some treatments you may feel a mild heat for a few minutes, or a couple of hours, but after most treatments you will feel next to nothing at all.
How will I look after the treatment?
In most cases there is no visible reaction and you would be expected to be able to return to work and resume your normal activities immediately after your appointment. However, IPL causes heat in the target tissues; therefore it is quite acceptable for the area to be slightly reddened immediately after treatment, but this would normally dissipate within half an hour. It is possible for the skin to appear slightly red for a couple of hours and up to 24 hours. If a reaction is visible after 48 hours it is imperative to contact your IPL operator for further advice. For those people concerned about wearing makeup immediately after treatment; provided there is no adverse reaction, (which is very rare), we can apply a mineral foundation to your face after your sun block.
After hair removal treatments is also common to see a slight swelling at the mouth of each hair follicle, similar to goose bumps. This appearance should disappear within the same frame time as with reddening. Please note: In darker skinned people, these responses may be delayed for up to 24 hours.
Important Before Care:
Sun exposure and tanning:
You can NOT be treated if you have had ultra violet (UV) exposure from the sun or sun beds within the past 4 to 6 weeks. Therefore prior to your treatments you must cover well with clothing and hats and sun block to prevent extra activity of the melanin cells in your skin. Melanin cells are responsible for tanning. Your tan slowly ‘wears off’ as those cells reach the surface of your skin in the normal skin shedding activity, known as skin renewal.
Fake tans stain the outer skin cells, and this colour will intensify the IPL heat at the surface of the skin, therefore we cannot treat with IPL for at least two weeks after a fake tan application.
Waxing, plucking, threading:
For hair removal treatments, allow the hair to grow just a little, (2 mm is enough) immediately prior to your treatment day. It is advisable to shave between appointments, as waxing or plucking would remove the hairs that we are hoping to target in your next session. SHAVING DOES NOT CAUSE FUTURE HAIR GROWTH TO GROW MORE RAPIDLY OR TO BECOME COARSER. Only the actual shaved hairs will become coarser, but they will shed, and new growth will be normal.
Bleach or depilatory creams:
These products should not be used for at least one week before IPL treatments. AHA Creams, Glycolic or Salicylic Peels.
Important After Care:
For 24 hours after each IPL treatment:
Long term After Care:
Can Dark Skins Be Treated?
Light produced by laser and by IPL is absorbed by the colour pigment, melanin, which is present in our hair and skin. Caution is required when treating people with dark skins, Asian skins and some other skins which tan very easily. Hyperpigmentation or blanching of the skin is likely to occur if there is too much melanin present in the skin. It is possible to treat medium to medium/dark skins on a low intensity. The consultation process and a test patch, will determine whether each individual can be treated. Strict guidelines must be adhered to, when treating darker skinned people, using only low levels of intensity at each session, and therefore more treatments will be needed to achieve a result. Skins such as Negroid, Melanesian and some darker Indian skins are not treatable – for both skin rejuvenation and for hair removal. Electrolysis is an option for these people, but it too, must be administered with caution, on a low intensity, due to the possibility of hyperpigmentation or blanching.
Skin Rejuvenation and Anti Aging
Many skin complaints caused by aging or sun damage such as redness, rosacea, age spots, freckles, fine lines and changes in pigment or skin texture can be treated with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Our IPL system uses flashes of light that cause heat damage to dermal tissue layers without disruption to or removal of the outer epidermal layers of the skin. This procedure is usually described in the cosmetic industry as photorejuvenation, and can result in youthful, fresher-looking skin.
After a series of IPL treatments, your skin will look refreshed and rejuvenated, and you will experience improvement in the tone and texture of your skin. You will find a significant reduction of brown and red areas of discolouration, small red blood vessels (spider veins) and irregular areas of pigmentation. Pore size is reduced by one third. If you have rosacea or abnormal flushing, you will notice a reduction of your skin’s red discolouration.
FAQ – IPL Skin Rejuvenation
What is the IPL skin rejuvenation procedure? Following an initial discussion with our IPL practitioner to clearly establish your expectations, we will check your medical history with you to ensure there are no reasons for you not to have the treatment. We will ask you to sign a consent form to confirm that you have understood the potential benefits and risks associated with this
treatment. With your wellbeing in mind, we will always perform a patch test (an IPL treatment on a very small area of skin) prior to a full treatment, to rule out any sensitivities or adverse effects you may have in response to the treatment. Following this, we can then book a convenient time for you to return for your next and full session, normally with 48 hours.
Does it hurt? You will experience a slight sensation as the pulses of therapeutic light are passed over your skin. The sensation is mild and easily tolerated by most people.
What will my skin look like after the procedure? Your skin may look slightly flushed. This mild ‘glow’ will usually disappear after 24 hours. In some rare cases some swelling or superficial bruising or crusting may occur whilst the skin is rejuvenating to reveal a brighter and fresher new you!
How long do the results last? The results achieved from a series of treatments can be expected to last for several years or longer. Skin rejuvenation will provide benefits and will significantly reverse many of the visible signs of sundamaged skin. However, in time and with inevitable environmental exposure, our skin ages as we do. A series of treatments is initially required for best results, followed by occasional single maintenance treatments of around one to two a year.
How do I take care of my skin following the treatments? Most people will not require post treatment care. You should, however, completely avoid sun exposure for up to a week and then use a sunscreen with a minimum spf of 50 on the areas treated, as your skin will be extra sensitive for a few weeks following the treatment.
Please note that our IPL photo rejuvenation system is not suitable for all skin tones especially darker ones. Please contact us as we can suggest alternatives depending on the issue.

Radio frequency involves the use of radio waves that penetrate deep into the skin and affect the deeper dermis and subcutaneous layers, causing tightening and improvements to the underlying tissue structure. This results in firmer and more youthful looking skin. Totally non-invasive walkin, walkout procedure.
Skin tightening by radio frequency (RF)
Is a nonsurgical procedure that tightens the slack skin and makes the fine lines and wrinkles to look softer, giving the face a younger texture and sight.
How does the skin tightening treatment work?
The therapy is based on high frequency radio waves (RF) that heat the dermis and the collagen fibres of skin face in order to be contracted and the skin be tighter. Additionally, heating activate the fibroblasts to produce more new collagen and elastin fibres giving by this way a long duration skin tightening. The spectacular results (skin tightening, wrinkle reduction) gradually begin to appear within 2 months and are completed in 6 months. Results usually last till two years. The sessions are performed throughout the year, even during summer, as there is no photosensitivity problem. All ages and all skin types are suitable for this treatment.
Facial rejuvenation with Radio frequency
Radio frequency for facial rejuvenation involves the use of radio frequency waves that penetrate the dermis resulting in contraction of collagen and subsequent regeneration of collagen leading to skin tightening, with the gradual decrease in wrinkles. Radio frequency treatments require 4 to 8 sessions once per week being ideal.
Treatments priced accordingly by treatment area and single session or package sessions.
RADIO FREQUENCY SKIN TIGHTENING FAQ
How does Radio Frequency skin tightening work?
Radio frequency (RF) technology represents a new frontier for treatment of lax skin, fine lines, wrinkles and cellulite. Our treatments employ Bipolar radio frequency technologies to tighten both the very superficial layers of the skin and skin’s subdermal layer, which in other cases requires two separate procedures. The result is skin shrinkage, new collagen production and increased blood circulation, all of which provides lifting and tightening effects. You will notice a change in your skin that will appear immediately after the first treatment and will continue to improve for weeks to come. Lax skin will be firmer and more toned, not to mention healthier and younger looking, while wrinkles will be considerably reduced.
What does the Radio Frequency skin tightening procedure involve?
Radio frequency (RF) skin tightening treatment takes about 30 to 60 minutes depending on which areas are being treated. The client experiences sensation of warmth over targeted areas of loose skin, cellulite or fine lines or wrinkles.
Is there a recovery time after the Radio Frequency skin tightening procedure?
Radio frequency skin tightening is mainly popular due to its high efficacy and no recovery time. Your skin may remain slightly red for 30 to 60 minutes after the procedure. It may also feel somewhat dry for 24 to 48 hours after the treatment, but clients may return to their normal daily routine immediately.
How many treatments will I need?
We recommend a series of four to eight Radio Frequency Skin Tightening treatments, approximately one to three weeks apart, with the best effect being seen two to six months following the final treatment.
On what parts of my body will I benefit most from Radio Frequency skin tightening?
Radio Frequency (RF) technology can be used for skin tightening and lifting effects on anybody areas including face, upper arms, abdomen, back, thighs and buttocks. The most common treatments of the face are treatments for ageing and lax skin on the chin, neck, underneath and above the eyes, and for saggy brow lines. On the body, radio frequency technology is most commonly used for skin tightening, cellulite and stretch marks reduction.
Contraindications to RF skin tightening?
The therapy must be avoided to persons who suffer from collagen diseases, patients with pacemaker or defibrillator and malignant history.

IPL for Acne and Pigmentation
Acne is an occurrence of inflamed or infected sebaceous glands under the skin due to blocked hair follicles. The infected glands can appear on the face, neck, back and body which cause blemishes such as black heads and spots to appear on the surface of the skin, resulting in red, sore, breakouts which can leave scarring. AVANA offers acne sufferers a number of different treatments to suit their skin types, and to help address those concerns. Acne treatments can range from laser treatments to skin peels.
IPL is an ideal drugfree treatment for mild and moderate inflammatory acne, for which we get remarkable results. Acne is very often caused by internal factors such as hormonal imbalance, stress and food allergies. Ideally, the treatment should be combined with methods to deal with the underlying problem in order to clear the acne permanently. This is a wonderful treatment for clearing an annoying spot or boil, especially before an important event where looking good is essential. In this case it would be best to use the treatment a week before the special date. It is also great for anyone with permanent acne, as they will greatly benefit from regular treatments.
The innovative and advanced IPL system filters light from a flash lamp in two targeted ways to ensure that only light with the appropriate wavelength is allowed to reach the skin to prevent future acne. Haemoglobin, the red pigment in the blood, absorbs this light and heats up in the fine blood vessels that supply the sebaceous glands. This causes minor injury to the sebaceous glands, which decreases the overproduction of oil that leads to acne. This solution to dealing with acne is easy and essentially painless, as any potentially harmful wavelengths are filtered out by our advanced IPL system.
Preparation before a treatment. You do not need to do anything in order to prepare for treatments. However, in the weeks leading up to your appointment, it is important that you should avoid exposure to the sun, as your skin must be kept as pale as possible. This is to prevent too much light from being absorbed by a darker complexion.
Post treatment. Although there may be some redness on your skin after the treatment, people do not normally need any post treatment care. However, some people with more sensitive skin may ease any discomfort by applying ice or aloe vera to the area immediately after the treatment. In the case of sundamaged skin, some of the pigmented spots may become darker, but they will eventually disappear.

The emitted Infrared Light energy penetrates up to 3½ inches (8.75cm), and releases nitric-oxide into the haemoglobin, stimulating micro-circulation, delivering higher levels of oxygen and nutrients to the injured cells, while eliminating toxins and cellular waste. This begins the healing process as pain is relieved.
Treatment for Cellulite
This therapy is an all-natural solution to reduce cellulite (Cellulite is essentially pockets of water, toxins and fat being held under the skin. If you target these pockets with infrared waves, the waves will heat your body under the pockets and actually force the water out through your pores and eliminated the pockets and therefore the cellulite.)
Infrared Therapy for Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis
Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are both painful conditions that involve extreme swelling of the joints. The swelling of the joints occurs when the fluid filled sacks located between the bones and the joints become compromised, causing the bones to rub against each other.
Infrared light is a special light that is felt as heat when it touches the skin. The light helps with arthritic pain by penetrating deep into the blood vessels and tissues and gently heating the joints. As the blood vessels are heated, they dilate to allow for more blood flow to the affected areas. There are more benefits to infrared light therapy as well. The infrared light also increases oxygen levels, which stimulate white blood cells and collagen production. This is important as collagen is a necessary substance for repairing damaged joints. Infrared light therapy increases blood flow to the joints without raising your blood pressure or increasing your heart rate.
Other benefits of Infrared Light Therapy
This infrared therapy also help to relieve stiff backs and necks, reduces swelling, and promotes a healthy immune system and can help to detoxify your body. Infrared light therapy targets specific parts of the body with the wonderful healing powers of infrared waves. Infrared light therapy is an effective, tested treatment for any condition characterized by pain and inflammation. Here's just a partial list of conditions that benefit from treatment:

The biggest benefit of microneedling is its ability to radically enhance the texture of your skin. "Microneedling is a collagen-stimulating treatment great for general skin rejuvenation. It treats textural issues dealing with pores, acne scars, wrinkles, tightening sagging skin, and more.
If you're using any intense topical treatments (such as those containing retinol, you'd be wise to discontinue use a few days before your microneedling treatment. Harsh products could aggravate the skin, so milder is the key. "In addition to having a cleansed and toned face, you should also avoid using retinol at least 48 hours prior and avoid direct sun exposure for about three days prior and three days following. Also stop using any aggressive acids within the week of the procedure. You should arrive to your appointment with clean, dry skin (if not, the technician will wash your face so it's clean before the procedure). Next, you'll likely be slathered in numbing cream, so the pain won't be quite so intense.

Mesotherapy is an injection treatment that delivers nourishing substances to the layers of the skin where cell repair and growth occurs. Vitamins, amino-acids, minerals, hyaluronic acid, all essential components for healthy skin cells, can be delivered by mesotherapy. This treatment helps improve dull, tired looking skin; dry, lifeless skin, superficial wrinkles and is ideal for pre- or post-operative skin conditioning. A series of superficial injections are done by hand or with an injection device delivering rapid injections for larger areas. Normally it is well tolerated, but for sensitive areas anaesthetic cream can be used prior to the treatment. Initially a course of 6-8 sessions are advised every 2 weeks, with maintenance 1-2 times a year.
Which cosmetic conditions can Mesotherapy treat?
Although Mesotherapy is used to treat a broad spectrum of injuries, illnesses and medical conditions, it is also employed to treat cosmetic conditions, including acne, cellulite, stretch marks, scars and wrinkles. It can also be used to reduce and contour fat.
Aftercare Ice packs are applied to reduce swelling and bruising, moisturiser and SPF cream is used afterwards and make-up can be used next day.
Combined with other cosmetic treatments Does it interact with prescription medication? Yes, it is often used to enhance effects of other cosmetology treatments. Botulinim toxin A is often added to mesotherapy cocktails and the mixture is then called Mesobotox. Some prescription medication can interact with the components of cocktails so it is compulsory to consult your cosmetic doctor if any interactions are possible.

Whether you’re looking to remove fine lines and wrinkles or plump up your skin and add volume, AVANA Clinic is able to offer you a range of top treatments to satisfy your needs.
For facial rejuvenation without surgery (non-surgical treatment) we like to see you for a consultation to assess you. We often use a combination of anti-wrinkle injections and facial and dermal fillers such as Restylane® and Juvederm®.
The anti-wrinkle treatment that we use for you depends on what we talk about at the consultation. You can have wrinkle reduction treatment on the day of your consultation but you can also simply come for a discussion on wrinkle treatments and have your cosmetic injection some other time.
For facial rejuvenation and treatment of facial wrinkles, there are two types of fine lines that we have in our face: dynamic lines and static lines. Dynamic lines are those that appear when we make facial expressions and static lines are those that are present all the time.
Generally, we treat dynamic lines with muscle relaxing treatments. The medicines used include those that reduce the strength of muscle contractions, and we treat static lines with anti-wrinkle treatments such as Juvederm® and Restylane®. Please note, though, that we are offering you, our customer, a medical consultation and that this may or may not lead to the provision of a prescription for wrinkle reduction medicines. Wrinkle reduction with wrinkle removal injections often takes a week or two to start working completely and lasts for around four to six months. The two wrinkle removers that we therefore use are substances such as Botox® and Juvederm®.
Dynamic lines are often seen around the middle of the eyebrows (so called glabellar lines), around the outer areas of the eyes, on the upper side wall of the nose (bunny lines) and on the forehead when we frown (forehead lines). The anti-wrinkle treatment that we use for you depends on what we talk about at the consultation. You can have wrinkle reduction treatment on the day of your consultation but you can also simply come for a discussion on wrinkle treatments and have your cosmetic injection some other time.
A non-invasive clinical procedure, Botox is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. It takes three to seven days from when the product is first administered for the full transformation to take place, at which point you’ll see deep wrinkles diminished and finer lines smoothed by the Botox injections. AVANA Cosmetic Clinic is the perfect base from which to take advantage of this popular procedure, it’s a great destination for a rejuvenating getaway.
Botox works by reducing the activity of muscles that cause wrinkles and frown lines, preventing lines that will become permanent over time. As a non-invasive treatment, Botox offers one of the easiest solutions against aging skin, as well as an effective preventative measure.
After a consultation with one of our practitioners to discuss whether the treatment will be appropriate to your needs, a few tiny injections are delivered to the surface of the skin to target problem areas. All our treatments are tailored to the wishes of the individual patient, so you can be confident that the outcome will align with your expectations.
All consultations and check-ups are free at AVANA Clinic. Check-up appointments can be made for up to three-four weeks after treatment, after which time they will no longer be available.

Dermal Fillers are popular treatments for wrinkles and facial lines. They can also enhance lips and add definition to your chin and cheeks. It’s a natural, biodegradable gel that flows easily into your skin, instantly filling out those troublesome lines leaving a smooth and natural look and feel. So, you’ll notice an immediate difference after just one treatment. Smooth facial expression lines formed by moving the underling muscles. Treatment involves a number of small injections which are relatively comfortable and take approximately fifteen minutes to carry out.
Anti Wrinkle Injection (Botox)
Our wrinkle-relaxing injections are used to smooth facial expression lines formed by moving the underling muscles. The commonly-affected areas we treat are the forehead (frown lines) and the eyes (laughter lines or crow's feet), but we can also treat other areas of the face. We can soften neck lines and upper lip lines, correct a dimpled chin, lift the eyebrows, lift the corners of the mouth and reduce a gummy smile. The injections contain a protein derivative of botulinum toxin which when injected into the muscle blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscle preventing it from moving, relaxing the overlying skin and smoothing wrinkles. The treatment involves a number of small injections which are relatively comfortable and take approximately fifteen minutes to carry out. The results can be seen after approximately 6 days and can last up to six months.
There can be a few side effects of treatment - redness and sometimes bruising at the injection sites. This usually disappears after a few days.

Dermaplaning is a safe and highly effective physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently "shave" the skin's surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair.
This is a great treatment if you are pregnant or nursing and want exfoliation without the risk of harsh chemicals absorbing into the blood stream and potentially harming your baby. is recommended for all skin types except those with acneic skin. If you have deep cystic acne, wait until breakouts are clear before trying this treatment. As always, also discuss any allergies or skin sensitivities before starting a treatment.
There are no side effects and zero downtime. After the treatment, your skin will be highly sensitive to sun exposure and may already look very pink, so be sure to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive and non-surgical cosmetic hair restoration procedure which has been steadily gaining in popularity.
Superficial microinjections are inserted just below the epidermal layer of the skin into the appropriate tissues to stimulate the mesoderm layer in the skin, which lies at a depth of about 1mm beneath the surface, in order encourage the hair’s natural regeneration and proliferation process.
Mesotherapy treatment has now been used for decades to successfully restore luster and volume to thinning hair and to promote significant hair regrowth for both women and men who have experienced the beginnings of balding or Alopecia Areata.
The Hair starter kit by TOSKANI is designed to provide professionals from the beauty sector with the best selection of the most efficient products to carry out hair treatments. This kit is indicated to stimulate hair growth, improving and correcting the different types of hair loss. Kit includes Hair Cocktail Plus (3x10ml) and HCPR (2x5ml).
TOSKANI HCPR is a peptide-based mesotherapy cocktail to prevent hair loss and alopecia in women and men. This treatment induces hair growth by revitalising the hair follicles and stimulating the blood microcirculation. HCPR improves problems in the scalp by hydrating and nourishing it. This TOSKANI cocktail also strenghtens the hair root and increases the thickness and density of hair.
TOSKANI Hair Cocktail Plus formula combines different types of ingredients that act at different levels and phases of the hair growth cycle. Hair Cocktail Plus establishes cellular regeneration systems, prevents hormonal imbalance and common glandular problems in male and female hair loss situations. This mesotherapy product induces vasodilation in order to achieve an adequate perfusion to the cells of the capillary bulb, optimising the supply of nutrients. The content with high concentrations of vitamins of group B guarantees a complete nutrition of the dermal papillae, as well as a correct metabolic functioning. Thanks to its content of Sabal serrulata, Hair Cocktail Plus has a great effectiveness in hair loss treatments for men.
Unique and innovative lotion to stop hair loss and strengthen new and existing hair. Thanks to its combination of ingredients such as Sabal serrulate and Aminexil, the results of medical treatment are enhanced. while moisturising and reducing breakage.

Small varicose veins and Spider veins are treated by sclerotherapy. A tiny needle is used to administer a series of injections that contain small amounts of a sterile solution into the vein. Because the needle is so small, patients do not need any anaesthesia and usually feel little pain. The solution displaces the blood within the diseased vein and causes the vein to collapse. The treated vein is absorbed and eventually becomes nearly invisible.
Although the same vein may require multiple injections over time, this injection procedure for each session can be performed in our clinic in less than 30 minutes. The total number of veins treated during one session will depend on the size and location of the veins as well as the overall medical health of the patient. Any follow up sessions will be scheduled at least four weeks apart so that the results of the previous treatment can be accurately evaluated.
Sclerotherapy is a form of treatment where a doctor injects medicine into blood vessels or lymph vessels that causes them to shrink. It is commonly used to treat varicose veins or so-called spider veins. The procedure is non-surgical, requiring only an injection. It can also be used to treat blood and lymph vessel disorders that cause these vessels to form incorrectly. Sclerotherapy uses an irritating solution called a sclerosant, which is injected directly into a vein or lymph vessel. The solution irritates the vessel, causing it to swell. This swelling cuts off the flow of blood or lymphatic fluid and the vessel shrinks. Various forms trusted source of sclerotherapy have been around since the 19th century, but techniques have improved in recent decades.
What conditions does Micro-sclerotherapy treat?
Sclerotherapy is most often used to treat varicose veins. Varicose veins are also known as chronic venous insufficiency. Varicose veins occur when the veins swell and bulge, usually in the legs. This is due to weak vein walls that, in turn, weaken the vein valves. As a result, blood pools up the veins, causing them to swell and look different. Varicose veins may be painful and can cause skin issues, including rashes. By shrinking the veins, sclerotherapy reduces the effects of vein damage, making varicose veins less visible and less painful.
Micro-sclerotherapy is also used to treat some other conditions, including:
When to consider Micro-sclerotherapy?
Not everyone who has spider veins or another condition that can be treated with sclerotherapy needs to have the procedure. People should discuss their symptoms and treatment options with their doctor to decide if it is necessary.
Other treatments may be more affordable and less invasive. Hemorrhoids, for example, often respond well to nonprescription treatments. This can include lifestyle changes, such as eating more fiber and not straining when having a bowel movement.
People with spider veins should consider Micro-sclerotherapy when:
In most cases, they disappear within three to six months, but can be permanent about five percent of the time. Bruising may occur around the injection site and can last several days or weeks. In general, spider veins respond to sclerotherapy in three to six weeks, and larger veins respond in three to four months.
All medical procedures have risks that should be considered carefully prior to embarking on a particular treatment. Since sclerotherapy is frequently used to treat cosmetic problems, untoward and dangerous side effects ought to be fully explained to the patient.
Because this procedure requires injections through the skin, it is not a painless procedure. Some chemicals that are injected (sclerosants) are more likely to cause pain than others. If the sclerosant is deposited outside the vein inadvertently, this is often more painful.
Sclerotherapy is an effective technique to obliterate or collapse veins. Other techniques include surgical removal of the offending vein, endovenous laser destruction (fiberoptic-transmitted laser light) and, for very small vessels, percutaneous laser light or intense pulsed-light exposure are also effective.
Those with venous insufficiency who have disease that is poorly controlled with compression stockings and who are not obese are ideal candidates for sclerotherapy. To determine if sclerotherapy obliteration is likely to be of benefit, the site of the defective vein is identified as well as the venous drainage pattern. Healthy people who complain of unsightly superficial veins of small caliber (4 mm or less) are also candidates for sclerotherapy.
Patients are screened using special ultrasound techniques to determine the site of venous disease prior to treatment. In situations where there is only a small area of Spider Veins, this is rarely done.
There are now two FDA-approved sclerosants available, sodium tetradecyl sulfate (a detergent) and polidocanol (Asclera). For small veins, hypertonic saline is occasionally used. Depending on the size of the vein to be treated, the sclerosant may be administered as foam. A needle of the appropriate caliber is inserted into the vessel to be treated, and the chemical is injected.
This is an outpatient procedure and the patient leaves the office on the same day of treatment.
Patients should wear compression dressings for one to three weeks after treatment. A follow-up visit within two weeks to enable the evacuation of blood clots in larger veins can improve the prognosis and the appearance.
For patients with venous insufficiency, treatment can be beneficial by improving venous blood flow and limiting chronic swelling. For those with cosmetic complaints, their appearance can be improved.
Sclerotherapy risks, side effects, and complications include hyperpigmentation, temporary swelling, capillary dilation (telangiectatic matting), pain from the injection, localized hives, tape compression blister, tape compression folliculitis, and recurrence, vasovagal reflex, localized hair growth (hirsutism), skin death (cutaneous necrosis), allergic reaction, superficial thrombophlebitis, arterial injection, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, nerve damage, and migraine headaches.
Although insurance companies differ in their coverage and preapproval is always helpful, the treatment of venous insufficiency is usually covered for NHS patients. The treatment of cosmetic problems including spider veins is rarely covered at private cosmetic clinics.
In rare cases complications may occur.
Should a vein rupture and start to bleed, apply compression immediately and rise your legs, medical assistance should be sough straight away.
Other side effects that need medical attention include:
PLASMA-FIBROBLAST (Soft Surgery)
Plasma-Fibroblast treatment or soft surgery method is a revolutionary method for a perfect facial rejuvenation. It is important to stress that Plasma-Fibroblast is a non-surgical technique where no scalpels or any other surgical instruments are used.
Plasma-Fibroblast treatment is an active answer to patient’s needs for beauty treatments that provides perfect look but is not based on surgical methods and there are no surgical risks involved. As you know, these risks are anaesthesia, stitches, swelling, long downtime, possible complications, bruises etc. It is important to have in mind that surgical methods are far more expensive and complicated, while the end results are comparable with the soft surgery treatment.
What is Plasma-Fibroblast and how does it work?
The Plasma treatment uses the fourth state of matter plasma. Tissues treated “sublimate” and we avoid spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas. The principle is to ionize gases in the air to create a small electrical arch, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, with which dermal and epidermal areas, which are affected by aesthetic problems, may be treated without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas.
When the electrical arch plasma touches the skin surface, the heat widens the acne and is subsequently transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The result isn't con- traction and tightening of the skin cells. Consequently, the excess skin is reduced and the result is comparable to lift procedures or wrinkle reduction. Most, if not all, methods of skin resurfacing are based on creating a controlled skin damage, which activates its healing and this leads to the skin re-modelling and improvement in various signs of aging.
Even though skin layers get damaged by plasma in a controlled manner (by heating, fragmentation, vaporization – sublimation and coagulation), they do not burn off as they largely do under ablative laser and, importantly, there is no open wound during the healing phase. This is extremely important as this approach reduces the risk of side effects such as scarring, infection, loss of pigmentation etc.
After the treatment small dry spots – scabs form. They need 5-7 days to fall off and during this time the client should keep the skin surface clean (use Octenisept and lukewarm water) and protect it with cream which we will present later.
Plasma-Fibroblast works similarly to an ablative (fractional) laser. On a minute surface of the skin accurately directed energy damages very specific skin cells to encourage regrowth and renewal. This does not only improve the skin tone and texture, but it can also reduce scarring, improve a number of common skin problems and increase skin contour.
Advantage of Plasma-Fibroblast vs Surgery
It is a non-invasive/non-surgical procedure with the same or comparable results as traditional surgery. Before the treatment the topical anaesthetic is applied, ensuring a painless procedure. This innovative technique cannot cause the so-called “overlifting”, as it only damages excess/loose skin which returns to its “original state” after the regeneration phase. You need to wait for 8-10 weeks to see the perfect results. The procedure can be carried out only by a certified specialist.
When the electrical arch plasma touches the skin surface, the heat widens the acne and is transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The result is contraction and tightening of the skin cells. Consequently, the excess skin is reduced and the result is comparable to lifting or wrinkle reduction.
First, the topical anaesthetic (cream) is applied, minimizing the risk of pain and numbing the treated area. The anaesthetic takes effect 20 minutes after the application. The procedure itself does not last long, 20-30 minutes depending on the area. The duration of the treatment (with anaesthetic application): 60-90 minutes.
There is no special pre-treatment needed. It is advisable that you do not apply any cosmetic products on the treated area (especially those containing alcohol). During the consultation you should mention all recent surgical or aesthetic procedures.
Plasma is a non-invasive procedure with minimal level of pain. It is virtually painless, as the treated area is numbed before the treatment. After the treatment the treated area is red (7-14 days) and some patients may experience some swelling, which may last up to 3-7 days. At the site of each spot a small crust will form. They should not be touched and you should wait for 4-5 days for them to fall off naturally. During the procedure the clients may feel some discomfort, not actual pain, depending on the treated area of the face/body.
With the help of Plasma instrument it is possible to treat various skin problems (acne), achieve the “lifting effect” of the loose skin or correct or remove scars. If you suffer from any of the above mentioned and do not want to go through a traditional surgical procedure, Plasma-Fibroblast Lifting is right solution for you.
Eyelid lift (upper, lower), facelift, neck lift.
Resurfacing of wrinkled areas (labial, nasolabial, worry lines, smile lines …).
Removal of different kinds of moles.
The treatment is very safe, as it is a non-surgical procedure. It has a negligible amount of possible side effects and serious complications alike. The procedure is based on the natural stimulation of skin regeneration, so the excesses which may be seen in the world of traditional surgery are not possible. The Plasma treatment takes a very short time, with stress on the aftercare, as, in case the client neglects the instructions for aftercare, the treated area may suffer from: inflammation, hyper-pigmentation, scarring.
Aftercare is one of the most important parts of the treatment. Each client has to follow the instructions for aftercare closely to achieve the perfect results:
1. Do not pick carbon crust; it will fall off in a few days
2. Clean the treated area with Octenisept twice a day
3. After the treatment continue applying the aftercare cream on the treated area as long as it is sensitive or when you are exposed to sun, as it contains SPF and protects the treated area.
4. Avoid sauna, pools, solariums or any kind of exposure to activities which present risk for infection of the treated area
5. Make sure to protect the treated area from direct sun until the skin is completely regenerated (2 to 8 weeks)
6. Do not apply products containing alcohol or other scents.
7. Until the crusts fall off, you may apply colloidal silver to prevent inflammation.
8. Do not cover with plasters.
Do not use makeup after the treatment, as it generally is not sterile. First 5–6 days after the treatment, until the crusts fall off, use the antiseptic product and the aftercare cream, applying it softly to the treated area. When the crusts fall off, you may apply some makeup if necessary, as the cream the therapist gives you contains skin powder which covers the crusts and the blush.
We have to inform the client that the maximum results will be visible after 3 to 4 weeks when the skin enters the third phase of the healing collagen and connective tissue growth. So the end results follow after 10 to 24 weeks after the treatment.
It depends on the state of the clients’ skin and the desired degree of correction. The client is often satisfied after only one treatment, of course if, e.g. the wrinkles are not very deep, but due to the simplicity of the procedure the clients opt for two or even three treatments to achieve a perfect result. The procedure may be repeated after the skin is fully regenerated, so 8 - 10 weeks after the procedure. Generally two sessions are required.
The results of the Plasma treatment are permanent and may be visible for years. But we should acknowledge that the aging process is continuous and thus the skin ages every day after the procedure and this cannot be stopped. The results of this method are permanent, but when we talk about mimic facial lines (worry lines) these may recur quickly because muscles are stronger than the skin and consequently the lines recur. Average results last from 2-4 years.

Short Wave Diathermy (or electro-coagulation as it is sometimes called) is a very effective method for treating Thread Veins and Spider Veins on the face. A very fine needle is used to prick the skin over the thread veins and spider veins and then an electrical current is passed through the vein which is heated and sealed. Over the course of a few weeks, the vein withers and disperses and becomes much less noticeable. A mild anaesthetic cream is used to numb the area prior to treatment.
Skin conditions can be treated with SWD:
Post treatment side effects?
After treatment the skin may be pink or puffy in more sensitive areas but this will settle in a few hours. A healing process then starts and the final results will be apparent 4 to 8 weeks after treatment. The success rate for short wave diathermy to facial spider veins and thread veins is 95%.
Spider veins and varicose veins are different forms of a medical condition called venous insufficiency. In the legs, both conditions result from having weakened or damaged valves in the veins. However, the two issues have different symptoms.
Spider Veins are usually small, thin lines that may be flat or only slightly raised. They are often blue, red, or purple. Although they can cause some discomfort, they are painless most of the time.
Varicose Veins are larger and deeper than spider veins. They may also appear lumpy or twisted and are usually flesh-colored or red.
Depending on their severity, varicose veins can cause a variety of symptoms. These may include:
Varicose Veins may also increase a person’s risk of blood clots and circulation problems.
Factors that can increase a person’s risk of developing spider veins include:
Wearing compression stockings or socks places pressure on the veins in the lower legs. This pressure can help improve blood flow and prevent further spider or varicose veins. Compression stockings may also help relieve leg swelling and lower the risk of blood clots in the legs.
Types of compression stocking include:

What to expect from Electrolysis
Electrolysis is another type of hair removal technique that is done by a dermatologist. It also disrupts hair growth. The process works by inserting an epilator device into the skin. It uses shortwave radio frequencies in hair follicles to stop new hair from growing. This damages your hair follicles to prevent growth and causes existing hairs to fall out. However, you’ll still need multiple follow-up appointments for the best results.
In addition to producing more permanent results, electrolysis is extremely versatile. It can help inhibit new hair growth for all skin and hair types. Electrolysis may also be used anywhere on the body, including the eyebrows.
Side effects and risks
Minor side effects are common, but they tend to go away within a day. The most common symptom is slight redness from skin irritation. Pain and swelling are rare. Possible severe side effects include infection from unsterile needles used during the procedure, as well as scars.
Aftercare and follow-up
The results of electrolysis are touted as being permanent because of hair follicle destruction. In theory, having damaged hair follicles means that no new hairs are able to grow. These results aren’t achieved in just one session. This is especially the case if you’re having the procedure done on a large area like your back, or on an area of thicker hair growth like the pubic region. Most people need follow-up sessions every 4 weeks to achieve optimal results. Once the hair is gone, you won’t need any more treatments. No maintenance is required with electrolysis.
After treatment, the skin may be a little red. This will usually go down within 24 hours, but it is important that you do not rub or touch the treated area during this time. You can expect some mild scabbing and a sensation that feels similar to mild sunburn. This is completely normal and will only be experienced for a short period of time.
We recommend that you stay out of direct contact with the sun for at least 24 hours after electrolysis hair removal, wearing a hat and sunscreen where possible.
Usually, a series of sessions is needed to completely prevent hair growth. If this hair growth is caused by a hormonal imbalance, the process may be slower but is still possible.
HOW DOES THE HAIR GROW?
When it comes to hair, most people only think of the hair you can see. The scalp, however, contains the most important part of the hair, the part that allows the hair to grow.
The hair follicle (also called hair root) is located beneath the scalp and has to function properly in order to maintain healthy hair. A hair follicle is about 4 to 6 millimeters in length. Each follicle produces one to four hair shafts, each being about 0.1 millimeter in size. So, these hair shafts are very small.
Electrolysis takes an average of 18 months with regular treatments. Most people require weekly treatments at first. Over time, treatments eventually become shorter less frequent.
Yes, electrolysis safely and permanently removes hair from all skin tones. It is the only FDA-approved permanent hair removal treatment. Because electrolysis permanently destroys the growth cells in the hair follicles, the hair will not grow back.
Laser therapy and electrolysis both produce longer-lasting effects compared to shaving. But electrolysis seems to work the best. The results are more permanent. Electrolysis also carries fewer risks and side effects, and you don't need the maintenance treatments required for laser hair removal.
Avoid plucking or waxing for 2-3 weeks before, and avoid shaving for 3-5 days before your electrolysis appointment. In order for the needle to follow the hair follicle and more easily remove the hair, there needs to be at least 1/8th of an inch of hair above the surface of the skin.
Electrolysis safely and permanently removes all types of hair from all skin tones. Electrolysis permanently destroys the growth cells of the hair follicle, preventing treated hairs from ever growing back.
During treatment, you may feel some pain from the electrical current flow. After treatment, your skin may be red, swollen (inflamed), and tender. These are temporary side effects. Electrolysis can cause scarring, keloid scars, and changes in skin color of the treated skin in some people.
Electrolysis can be expensive, painful, and even time consuming: Removing upper lip hair may take a total of 4 to 10 hours over several visits. In some cases, electrolysis can cause dry skin, scabs, scarring, enlarged pores, and swelling.
Electrolysis is the only type of hair removal approved by the FDA as a permanent way of removing hair. 1 For the thousands of women with PCOS electrolysis is a great option to permanently get rid of thick hair that often grows on their face, chest, and back.
Redness, Swelling, Scabbing + Possible Bruisin
The post-treatment sensation feels similar to a sunburn. Your electrologist will apply witch hazel & aloe vera at the end of your session but you can ask about other post-treatment options that may be appropriate for you.
Clean skin releases unwanted hair more easily. Remove your makeup before your appointment, so the hair follicles are clean and accessible. It's okay to shave between treatments, but never, ever tweeze!
Tips to Help You Prepare for your First Electrolysis Session
Several sessions: If larger areas are being treated with electrolysis, such as the legs or back, it can take several long sessions to achieve permanent results. Also, removing coarse hair, such as from around the bikini line, requires more sessions. Some people may require up to 30 treatments.
Does Electrolysis Work on Everyone? Generally speaking, yes. Electrolysis can be performed on persons of any skin color and hair color, unlike laser hair removal.
Hair in the final week of resting appears within one week. This hair will start growing the day after the electrolysis session. It will appear on the surface of the skin within the week. The early anagen hair will even reach the surface in less than a week.
YES most definitely.
Bear in mind that while you may see some type of a reduction in hair growth with other types of hair removal product or methods, electrolysis is the only method that can provide you with complete hair removal permanently.
Yes. Your electrologist looks for the opening where the hair emerges from the skin. They do not need a significant difference in between the color of the hair and the color of your skin to do this
Galvanic electrolysis hair removal is more effective than thermolysis, but the thermolysis method is faster, with the electrocoagulation of thermolysis working best on fine hair destruction. Third method of electroylsis combines the previous two techniques into what is known as the "blend" method.
“Electrolysis, like laser hair removal, still requires multiple treatments, but it is a great option for hair removal for those with light hairs. It is time-consuming, costly, and there's the potential for skin discoloration if not performed properly.
While laser hair removal targets the melanin in the hair shaft to deliver energy to the follicle, electrolysis can directly target the hair follicle and papilla. Electrolysis is capable of eliminating white and blonde hair exceptionally effectively.
